NAIROBI: A BEFORE-&-AFTER STORY 

Nairobi is one of the fastest-transforming cities in Africa. Most of that transformation is undocumented from an African perspective.

 

This upcoming showcase uses Mohamed Amin's photographic archive [one of the most significant records of postcolonial Nairobi ever assembled] alongside contemporary photography, film, and sound to create a before-and-after portrait of the city that is both archive and argument.

 

It opens in 2027, during Kenya's 63rd year as a republic — a moment when national reflection on Nairobi's postcolonial journey is naturally and truly elevated.
